General: (political statement of goals, objectives, views, philosophies)
no response
Personal: (gender, age, marital status, spouse's name and age, children's name and ages, home town, current residence)
We moved to Ashland when I was four years old and immediately found it to be a loving nurturing community, a wonderful place for my family to pursue the American dream. I was so lucky and blessed to be born to the late Alice and Bill Radler. I married a wonderful Richmond man, Jim Hunt, a retired finance manager for Philip Morris. We lived for 30 years in Studley, near Mechanicsville. It was country and we loved it. We have two grown children—a daughter, Joy Hunt, who lives in Seattle and a son, Bill Hunt who lives in Durham. Jim and I moved back to my hometown of Ashland in 2011.
Education: (times and places of schools, colleges, major, degrees, activities, sports)
Graduated from Mary Washington College.
Profession: (profession and work experience outside politics)
Cub reporter for the Herald-Progress and Director of Communications for the worldwide charitable organization, the Christian Children’s Fund. I loved my summer jobs at the Herald-Progress where the former owners, Marion Herget and Mrs. Watkins, were incredible mentors to me. I loved covering news events and human interest stories in the town and the county where I lived.

Although all of my jobs have been an incredible gift, my next favorite job was Director of Communications for the Richmond-based Christian Children’s Fund. I retired from that job to help my folks who were having difficulty later in life. While at the Christian Children’s Fund, I handled media relations for the worldwide organization. I was truly blessed to travel to and work at major disasters in India, Uganda, Kenya, Sri Lanka and Indonesia where I facilitated media coverage and helped establish emergency spaces for children.

Military: (branch, years of service, active duty experience, highest rank, medals, honors, discharge date and type)
no response
Civic: (past and present organizations, charities involvement)
I have participated in local organizations that reach out to help those not as fortunate as I have been. I am inspired by the work my church and other churches do in the community. Without this support system, the fabric of our community would greatly weaken. The little things that my women’s club does such as providing dinners to staff at Hanover’s free health clinics, reaching out to families in need at Christmas time, and making donations to other local organizations strengthen the community.
Political: (dates and titles of previously held political offices)
no response
Religion: (current and past religious affiliations, beliefs)
no response
Accomplishments: (significant accomplishments, awards, achievements)
In fact, my strawberry lemonade, sold at our women’s club booth won a prize at the Strawberry Faire in Ashland. (Please don’t ask for the recipe. I just kept adding sugar to lemonade mix and non-alcoholic strawberry daiquiri mix, until it tasted right. It was so good that Governor Gilmore’s visiting staff asked to purchase gallons of it at the end of the day, but we were sold out.)
